ânûû-rû âboro 2010 Regulations1. Guiding principleThe purpose of the ânûû-rû âboro documentary film festival is to echo in Kanaky (New Caledonia) the voices and aspirations of peoples from all over the world, especially peoples from the Pacific area, by promoting documentary film. 2. Eligibility of films Documentary films sent to the festival as entries for the official selection should have been produced after 1st January 2008 and should reach the festival address by 31 May 2010. Feature-length and short documentary films can be entered in the festival. All documentary films sent to the festival should be supplied in their original version with French or English sub-titling as appropriate. 3. First film If any film entered is a film maker’s first production, this should be specified. 4. Format All video formats are acceptable. 5. Number of entries per participant Film makers can enter more than one film. Only one film per entrant will be included in the official selection. 6. Entering films There is no charge to enter a film in the festival. Entrants shall comply fully with these regulations. 7. Consignments All films entered in the festival should be sent to the festival address in DVD format, together with any relevant material (synopsis, film script, photos, press clippings). Films sent in for possible selections should be accompanied by a note describing the 'subject' of the film and some historical and geographical information on how it was shot. Films should be entered with a full script and sub-titled films with a copy of the sub-titles." All shipping charges and customs duties shall be the responsibility of the sender. The shipment should not incur customs duties (please state ‘no commercial value’ on your package) or the festival organisers may not be able to accept them. The festival will cover the cost of returning copies of the selected films only. 8. Announcement The selection committee will chose the films to be screened at the Festival. The results of the selection process will be advised to entrants at the end of July 2010. 9. Prizes The prizes are: the “ânûû âboro grand prize” a Special Prize if the Jury, and the “cèikî prize”. Other prizes may be awarded by the organising committee. 10. Obligations The makers, producers and distributors of entries shall allow the Festival to broadcast their production as part of the festival. 11. Jury The Jury shall be appointed by the ânûû-rû âboro festival. The jury shall comprise professionals from the film, television and cultural world unless they are associated in any way in the production or marketing of any film in competition. 12. Sub-titling Copies of the selected films on digital formats should reach the festival office by 30th August, 2009. They should be subtitled in French or English. The scripts should be sent in by 30th August 2009. 13. Format Producers should supply films for screening in one of the following original formats: DV-CAM or DVD 14. Loss or damage In the event of loss or damage to a DVD, the responsibility of the festival shall be limited to the value of one copy only. 15. Legal capacity The festival organisers shall have the legal capacity to resolve all matters not specifically covered in these regulations. |
