Ulises Rossell took his camera to the Indian community of Wichi, which settled not long ago in the province of Chaco, Argentina, with an American ethnologist as a guide. To some degree a repentant ethnologist, John Palmer married a native Indian and established a large family rather than completing his PhD. He chose to become part of this remote and deprived community instead of observing it from a distance, striving to support its members, getting involved in law suits and confronting companies which spoiled with impunity land that belonged to the Indians.
