Using archives footage, the film portrays the first generation of the Red Army Faction (RAF) and its central figures, namely Andreas Baader and Ulrike Meinhof. They firmly believed in the power of images and started their activism through artistic activities and the media, but in view of the failure of their strategy, they soon radicalised and pursued armed rebellion.
